  1. GraFig 0.0 is a "trial balloon" program which creates very simple
  2. graphs from numerical data.  It is completely rigid in its operation,
  3. with NO options or features.  I am distributing it for several reasons:

  5.     1) To find out whether there is a need for a fancier
  6.        version of such a program in the user community.
  7.  
  8.     2) To find out what the important features of such
  9.        a program would be.
  10.  
  11.     3) To demonstrate how easy it is to write a small
  12.        program which produces graphics in the form of Fig code.
  13.        (GraFig 0.0 took only several hours to write).

  15. I am interested in hearing back from ANY user who is interested in
  16. this program, even (especially) if you cannot use it because of lack
  17. of features.  I am considering development of a much fancier tool
  18. for the analysis/plotting of data, with an interactive graphical
  19. interface.

  21. Please note: the output of GraFig can be edited using any of the
  22. existing versions of Fig, so you can do a lot of pretty-ing up
  23. of the graphs by hand.  This program is meant to be minimal, in 
  24. order to get design suggestions for a more mature version.

  28. The GnuTeX version of the GnuPlot numerical plotting program can now 
  29. generate Fig code.  Thus, it has many features one would want in a more
  30. mature version of GraFig.  GnuTeX is available via anonymous TFP
  31. from duke.cs.duke.edu.  For more information about GnuTeX, contact
